Low lighting/Shadows

For this assignment we had to capture our subjects with a variety of different patters outlining shadows across their faces. In order to do this we had to increase the ISO to range from 200-600, this would sacrifice the quality of the image but allow the camera to capture in the dark environment. Aperture for these shots were around 3.2 and the shutter speed was set at 1/60.

For today's assignment we were looking at fast shutter speeds. The idea was to drop Stawberrys from a height into a bowl of water and capture the splash. In order to get these shots we had to set up two spot lights on the left and right side of the bowl, this was so we could take pictures with a fast shutter speed. The shutter speed for these pictures ranges from 1/350 to 1/400. F stop was at 3.8 so i could have more areas in focus.

Light photography

Today we did some light photogrpahy. This type of photography allows us to capture light trails for a set amount of time. The idea is to take a long exposed shot in a dark room whilst waving around lights. To get these shots we need to decrease shutter speeds for about 8-12 seconds, if you want longer then just set it to B and hold onto the shutter for the desired amount of time. We also increase the aperture to about 6.8/7.1 so everything will be in focus and not over exposed.
